We are currently seeking passionate Freelance 3D Character Animators based in the USA to join our creative roster. This remote opportunity allows you to collaborate closely with our team in Los Angeles from the comfort of your own creative space. As a freelance animator, you will step into diverse creative worlds, adapting your personal style to meet the specific demands of each client. You will collaborate with creative directors, art directors, and technical leads to transform initial concepts into unforgettable, living characters. Key Responsibilities

• Character Performance: Craft high-quality 3D character animation that showcases strong acting choices, clear facial expressions, and a deep understanding of weight and body mechanics.
• Collaborative Execution: Work with directors, rigging TDs, and look-dev artists to ensure characters move seamlessly within their environments and match the project’s art direction.
• Style Adaptation: Pivot smoothly between hyper-realistic physics, stylized character movements, and abstract character traits depending on the project brief.
• Pipeline Efficiency: Deliver clean, well-organized files that integrate flawlessly into BUCK’s production pipeline, adhering to technical standards and project timelines.
• Iterative Refinement: Address internal and client feedback with a positive mindset, iterating on animation passes quickly without compromising structural quality.

 

Candidate Profile

• A Standout Reel: A professional 3D character animation showreel demonstrating a strong command of acting, timing, pacing, and character personality.
• Technical Expertise: Mastery of industry-standard 3D software, specifically Autodesk Maya , with a solid understanding of character rigs, constraints, and standard animation tools.
• Remote Independence: Proven ability to work autonomously in a remote setup, maintaining excellent communication, managing deadlines, and actively participating in virtual check-ins.
• Collaboration: A proactive, team-focused attitude. We value artists who are receptive to constructive feedback and eager to collaborate across creative disciplines.
• Logistics: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and currently located within the USA to align with project time zones.

 

Compensation and Culture

At BUCK, we believe in compensating our freelance talent fairly. For this role, the projected compensation range is ₹15–30 LPA (or equivalent USD) , scaled to match your experience, portfolio, and the specific scope of assigned projects.
